Translation: Go and learn your lessons, child; gain wisdom for yourself. Through education and wisdom, brighten the land. The villagers will respect you, and the world will know you. Sacrifice your life to serve the country. The Kherwal society is in a state of ignorance; you must help it rise. Bring light to the darkened society and dedicate yourself to the nation.

Translation: Wearing a silk sari and fine clothes, I stepped out without being seen by anyone. Leaving the sheltered house and the cowshed door, I slipped away unnoticed into the lane.

শিকারিয়ী মাড়ম চেতান, হড়ক দুডুব মাচি চেতান
আম খানদ মেনামগে উরু কুঁডেল ডাহার ধূড়িরে।
মেৎকিন তাম সাফয়মে, মাইলৌ বেঁজাঃ সাহায়মে

Translation: The hunters sit on high platforms, and elders sit on chairs; but where are you? You are still in the dust of the winding roads. Cleanse your eyes and wash away the dirt; look around and realize which world you belong to.

সুক জিওয়ী নাসাও আলম রগড়া, হান্ডি পৌওরৌ ঞুদ আলম রিকিড়া
ঘারঞ্জ মোঠে আল সেরেম লাটুওয়া, জিয়ন ডাহার ভাগেম দহয়া।

Translation: Do not destroy your happy life with friction; do not indulge in drinking liquor. Do not let your family fall into ruin; keep your life’s path clean. Drinking intoxicants makes you lose your direction; do not make liquor your companion. Do not hang your head in shame in society, and do not muddy the path of your life.

বুরু কচা সঙ্গারে, পায়া পুয়ুঃ আঙ্গারে
আড়গো রাকাপ সুগি চেঁড়ে আল রেসেম রাগ।
অকা দারে দানাংতে, আমাং বিছক আড়াংতে
মানমী কওয়াঃ মনে জিওয়ী আল রেসেম দাগ।

Translation: In the valley of the mountains, at the break of dawn, O Suggi bird, do not sing while flying up and down. Hidden behind the trees, do not pierce the human heart and soul with your bitter voice.

জাতি সমাজ তরাও আমদ রিকীইমে, হান্ডি পৌওরৌ ঞুঞু আম'দ বাগিমে
সারি ধরম ডাহারতেদ তাড়ামমে, সারি ধরম আলম বদলা।
সিসিরজৌওইচ্ জঁহার কাতেঞ মেতায়য়া, ঘারঞ্জ মঠে আল সেরেম লাঠুওয়া
হান্ডি পৌওরৌ ঞুতে আলম বুলঃআ, জিয়ন ডাহার আলম লসদা।

Translation: Strive to uplift your community and society; give up the habit of drinking liquor. Walk on the path of truth (Sari Dharam) and do not change your true faith. I pray to the Creator with folded hands—do not let your household fall into ruin. Do not get intoxicated by drinking, and do not muddy the path of your life.

অলঃ রেদম চাচো, একাল আলম পাচোঃ
মুরুক দশা হড় কদম চাচো লাহা কঃ।
অলঃ বাম বাডায়রেদ, বাজার করেম আদঃ
অলঃ পাড়হাঃ সেঁড়া কাতেঃ আমদম লাহাকঃ
অলঃ পাড়হাঃ বাডায়রেদঃ, কলম রেবেৎ সাজাঃ
অলঃ বাম বাডায়রেদঃ গাতে তেহম লাজাঃ।

Translation: Step forward in your education and never lag behind; let the people in the state of ignorance move ahead. If you do not know how to read and write, you will be lost in the markets. By learning to read and write, you will advance yourself. If you are educated, a pen will look good in your pocket; but if you are uneducated, you will feel ashamed among your friends.
